Welcome newbies!

Whether this is your first time being tattooed, or just your first time with Jess this page will help you.

Before your appointment

  1.  Skin health is so important to how well your colour tattoo (or any tattoo for that matter!)  will hold up and be evenly distributed through the skin- I recommend exfoliating your skin 1 week before your sitting and moisturising regularly with a heavy moisturiser.
  2. Keep covered and avoid sunburn! If your skin is burnt we cannot tattoo you and you will be rescheduled.
  3. Please don't get injectables or cortisol injections anywhere near the site you will be tattooed
  4. Consider your tattoo size;  The biggest regret with tattoos is actually the size,   going 'too small' is the single biggest regret I see with clients - please be open to going bigger with your size choices, it creates a much better image and less negative space looks far more complete.
The day of your appointment
There is paid parking on site, or paid parking directly across the road.
  1. Hydrate is key! Please bring your own water you'll need it!
  2. Bring snacks and lunch - your body needs energy to withstand your session the more snacks you have the easier you'll find the session :) we have a fridge and microwave at the studio so feel free to store your goods with us too.
  3. There is an allocated 30 minutes for lunch in the day
  4. Bring your own clean towel to lye on so you don't stick to the plastic wrap ( great when its hot!
  5. Cosy socks and a clean blanket if you get cold.
  6. Headphones for podcasts - your artist will need to concentrate throughout the tattoo at different times, sometimes its hard to hold a conversation so a distraction for you is always welcome!
  7. Consider your clothing-  dress comfy, and dark clothing; ink can get on everything! Please remember your artist needs easy access to the area that is to be tattooed without other contaminates see the list below;
  • Arms and legs singlets and shorts is best
  • hips/ thighs/ buttock - Wear dark stretchy underwear that can be hiked up easily but, preferably bring a clean towel that can be straddled ( for buttocks/ hip area especially)
  • backs- a button up shirt worn backwards is life, its the best for this spot!
  • sternums/ breast- stick on nipple shields or bras that can fasten at the front
The studio has privacy screens and we will always ask if you need/ want one.
